Breakfast Quiche
Ingredients:
about half a pound breakfast sausage (I used the turkey kind because the store was out of actual breakfast sausage)
4 eggs
bit more than a cup of shredded cheddar cheese
a cup of half-and-half (regular milk works too, I hear)
a cup of shredded hash brown potatoes - thawed
salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder to taste
Instructions:
To prepare - thaw the hash browns, grate the cheese and brown the pie crust
In a skillet, fully cook the breakfast sausage into bite-sized pieces; drain the meat when cooked
In a bowl, crack eggs and add the half-and-half; season to taste and whisk/mix thoroughly
Layer potatoes, meat and cheese in the pie crust until basically full; I like to start with potatoes, then the sausage, then cheese to top it off
Put in the oven at 350F for 30 minutes and check on it; mine had to be in for about 40 overall, I think, but I was just keeping a close eye on it and checking to make sure the egg was completely cooked
Let cool and enjoy!!!!!
